On a blue disc 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in diameter over a white triangle throughout, one point upward, three golden cartouche-like leaves in triangle throughout, one point to base, superimposed by a red disc 1 5/16 inches (3.33 cm) in diameter.
The blue disc is representative of the Infantry, the white triangle of a coral isle, and the golden propeller-like leaves are representative of the Air Corps, while the red disc in emblematic of the Coast Artillery and Field Artillery.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 7 October 1942. It was rescinded on 18 February 1943.
